Irresponsible me!

I can only be responsible for so much!  I have my limit, so I choose not to get stressed out over some particular things that I think really annoy other people.  Here is a list of things I tend not to stress over because I choose to worry about other things instead.

1.  Phone-  I do not have an iphone or expensive phone which I love because then I can let Truman play with it and keep him content.  The problem is he drops it in the craziest places I don't think to look.  I also have a very hard time keeping my phone on me which means I rarely answer the phone.  I'm sorry everyone!   But I don't have many people call me anyway.  As a matter of fact, I survived over a month without my phone when it was lost.  (I found it in a boot in the back of a closet I rarely go in). I'm glad I didn't get a new phone or a new plan.  We pre-pay so no big deal.

2.  Money-  Although I am now in charge of the bills and stay on top of that. I could care less about petty cash laying around.  I like not not keeping track of it because then I am always pleasantly surprised when I find it again.  This drives Mark CRAZY!  So I keep doing it because its one of the few things that bugs him and everyone needs to be bugged by something :)

3.  Puzzle and game pieces-  My motto is when you want to find something don't look for it just start cleaning and you'll find a whole bunch of stuff.  I wish Mark lived by this motto.  He will spend way  to long looking for things.  I have had to institute the 5 min. rule.  Never spend more than 5 min. looking for anything.  Mark would have loved growing up in our house.  For some reason, we never lost any game pieces.

and last and most recent...
4. camera-  its a cheap camara and I thought I left it on top of the car then drove away.  That was my theory.  3 weeks later I found it in a diaper bag!  But in the mean time we got a tad bit better camera.  Yay!  I feel like a good photographer even though I will never take the time to learn all the functions :)

Who looks most alike?

A few things we've been up to

In January we went on a strict food budget.  Our money ran out in the 2nd week!  Probably because we went to Costco and you can't get out of there without spending at least $100.  I swear we only got diapers and wipes!  Anyway, I was determined to stick to the budget and I am proud to say we did it!  We literally did not go to the store for 3 weeks, not once.  We ate food storage and it was a great learning experience.  We even finally got ride of this red wheat cereal that we have had for 4 years that no one ever wanted to touch.

Here is Truman in a bin of stuffed animals.

I had to get him in our famous winter bear outfit.  In a later post I will compare Tag, Tatum and Truman

Tatum and Tag
Ike came to visit during his spring break and we went to the SLC zoo.  Can I say soooooo much better than the Phoenix zoo.  Tag was always excited to get to the next animal but then right when we got there he wanted to go to the next without enjoying the current one.  It was funny.  Also very fun to have Isaac with us.
This is Tai's first gymnastics meet.  She loved it!  And for some reason thinks getting in the 8's is a bad score.  Then I told her that I got a 5.45 at my first meet and then she didn't feel so bad anymore.

This is Easter.  The kids shared one basket and it was after church that the Easter bunny came. We didn't make it too big of a deal but enjoyed being outside in the great weather.

We have a small fenced backyard and a huge community backyard with tons of kids.  They play outside everyday with all of their friends.  It is so nice not to have to go out of my way to have a "play date".  All of us moms just hang out all day while the kids play and it is so convenient to just go in and out of your house when ever you want for whatever you need.  I love it.

Tai's class had a presentation of songs that the parents were invited too.  It was cute to see all the kids dressed up and singing.  It was also cute to see how Tai takes after the Gary Wrights and can sing without moving her lips :)

Welcome to our FHE

At this particular Family Home Evening we talked about temples.  We had been struggling with writing on the walls with marker and crayon (Tatum).  So we discussed how the temple (and our body) is a sacred place and we would never write on its walls etc.  Don't we want our home to also be a place where the Holy Spirit can reside?

We then had an activity in scrubbing all the marker off the walls...

...and now the rest of the story.........this is what happened before the first 2 videos...you never would have guessed...

...sometimes people don't believe me when I tell them my angel Tai is moody and almost has 2 personalities...as she has gotten older most the time she is really really good.. but once in a while she is very, very bad...

My little drummers

treasured toys

I don't know why but this picture made me laugh.  The kids got these toys for Christmas.  Tag got the dinosaur, Tai got "Ali" cat, and Tatum got the pink pony.  For some reason they really, really love these animals.  They take care of them and make them houses and beds and play together...its great.  So, Tai got the camera and apparently took pictures of them individually and as groups in different poses.  Its just funny to me.

I think we are all in shock...

I think we are all in shock.  I predicted Obama would win (likely by fraud or is the majority of our country really this unaware or perhaps more rightly not God-fearing) , but I was really hoping Romney would pull it off. I can't believe we are really going to live through 4 more years.  Not that Romney would have saved or fixed everything but at least he would have given us a little more time to prepare.  I really like what Glenn is saying right now on the radio..."what is the country? It is not states on a map.  It is the constitution.  Your country is the constitution so don't give up on it.  We must concentrate on saving the constitution.  THE CONSTITUTION NOW AND FOREVER!"

Things in our country and in the world have been bad and they are going to continue to get worse but we are not of the world.  We can have peace within.  Let us grow stronger and stronger in faith and humility.  Let us take the Holy Spirit as our guide and build ZION in our hearts.  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  Let us put our trust in God and He will be our protection.  We are headed for some very trying times, but let us not be discouraged.  Let us trust in the Almighty and allow Him to refine us into the people he needs to usher in the coming of our Lord.  I believe the time is not far distant.  Let us prepare every needful thing.

Now you are really shock that I would actually write these things on my blog!

Some photos to lighten the mood a little:
